Privacy Policy — Apollo Metatool

Last updated: 2026-07-14

Summary

Apollo Metatool does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All photo processing and metadata editing happens entirely on your device.

What data we collect

None.

Apollo Metatool does not collect any personal data, usage data, analytics, crash reports, or telemetry. The app has no network connection and communicates with no external servers.

What data stays on your device

Apollo Metatool reads and writes the following data, which remains on your device at all times:

  • Photo files — images you import from your camera card or photo library
  • IPTC/XMP metadata — embedded in your photo files (copyright, creator, event name, etc.)
  • Templates, leagues, and settings — stored locally via SwiftData / iCloud sync
  • App preferences — stored in iOS UserDefaults (active league, import template selection, rating filter)

iCloud sync

If you have iCloud Drive enabled, your templates, leagues, and settings may sync across your devices via iCloud. This sync is handled entirely by Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

Photo library access

Apollo Metatool requests access to your photo library to import photos for metadata editing. We do not upload your photos to any server. Photos remain on your device.

Camera access

Apollo Metatool may request camera access to capture photos directly within the app. Photos taken are processed locally and are not transmitted externally.

Contacts access

Apollo Metatool can use the system contact picker to let you select a contact card and automatically fill in your photographer details (name, copyright line, email, phone, address, website) in the app's settings. The app only sees the single contact you choose — there is no blanket access to your address book. This information is stored locally on your device (and may sync via your own iCloud account, see above) and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Third-party services

Apollo Metatool uses no third-party SDKs, analytics services, advertising networks, or crash-reporting services.

Children's privacy

Apollo Metatool does not knowingly collect any data from users of any age.
